Goodbye Kid K - Cubdom will miss you!

May 6, 1998 - where was I? Getting ready to move from Minneapolis to Washington, DC and probably hanging out with my 20 something roommates. When boom, Kerry Wood, a young rookie pitcher for the Cubs strikes out 20 batters and ties Roger Clemens all time baseball pitching record. Amazing! More exciting than any perfect game, Kerry had all the stuff. Curve ball, fast ball, swagger - he was the man on the north side of Chicago.

Yesterday he was called into the game for the Cubs and promptly struck out a White Sox (so fantastic) batter and stepped out of Major League Baseball pitching forever. He will be missed, and I just wanted to write and say thanks to him for making the Cubs competitive and just being Kerry Wood. We will miss you. All of Cubdom will miss you.
