There are times in life, work, etc where you just need to say what you think. In an email to a supervisor I once said I was done being quiet and was going to say what I thought. That person responded by taking me to to lunch and had me give a detailed analysis of the situation on the ground in my unit. Later some of what I said made it into recommendations that were implemented.
Would that have happened if I had kept my mouth shut? No.
Hear me when I say you still need to understand timing (when to say it), credibility (will people listen), etc - but still if you feel compelled to speak, speak! Use your voice! You just might like the results.
